Everything was going great I had waited 6 months to finally see a doctor. I did my online new patient form or whatever. My appointment was at 3:00 p.m. .They took me in the back office pretty much immediately. I got got up and walked out after waiting an hour. I don't like arrogant doctors that think their time is worth more than mine. Which it is of course but that's not the point.

For the record, Monday, July 18, 2022, I went to my morning appointment at Coastal Spine and Pain Center, Riverside Ave., Jacksonville, Florida location. The office staff member working at the check-in desk, asked for my identification and my insurance. She proceeded to take a picture of my driver’s license and health insurance card I gave her. She took these pictures with a handheld ‘something’. I asked her what was that thing, she was taking pictures of my personal information with. She told me it was her cell phone. I asked her if it was her personal cell phone, and she said yes. I asked her for her name. She said her name is “Cori”. I asked this “Cori” why was she taking pictures of my personal information, my driver’s license, and my insurance card, with her personal cell phone? She (“Cori”) said her phone captured my personal information and then fed it into the company’s computer system, but did not save my personal information in her private cell phone. As usual, I tried to make sure I was being polite, and I respectfully requested to talk to a supervisor because I was not comfortable with her capturing my personal information in her personal, private cell phone. She (“Cori”) refused to get a supervisor. I again, respectfully requested to talk to a supervisor and at that point, she (“Cori”) stood up from her desk very fast, disrespectful, unprofessional, and aggressive, talking loud, telling me I did not need a supervisor. Talking loud and yelling, she walked out the office. Eventually someone came out, identifying himself as “Kenneth Powell, the owner”. He asked me, “why was I giving his girls a hard time”. I explained, I was not giving “his girls” a hard time. I was respectfully in search of the truth, and apparently “his girls” as he calls them, have a hard time handling the truth. I explained to Kenneth Powell, that I had in the past, been a victim of identity theft, and how it had negatively affected my bank accounts and my credit, and the trauma I had to go through, to eventually get things straightened out. And it was not my fault, but from being a victim of identity theft, and when I saw his office staff member who called herself “Cori”, taking pictures of my driver’s license and my health insurance card, with her personal, private cell phone, naturally I am going to question that unprofessional activity. “Kenneth Powell, the owner” told me that I would not be able to come back to that location, for services, and that same visit, he said, would be my last visit to that location, he told me. I say we live in times when the right thing to do, people are trying to make that, seem to be wrong, and the wrong thing to do, people are trying to make that, seem to be right. “Doctor Kenneth Powell, the owner”, should have a professional, more customer-friendly, security-friendly system in place, for capturing patients personal driver’s license and health insurance information, instead of on one of his office staff member’s PERSONAL, PRIVATE, CELL PHONES. I don’t trust it. It’s VERY unprofessional. Very suspicious. Because Doctor Kenneth Powell approves, and goes along with this behavior, what else could Doctor Kenneth Powell be doing, that you should not trust? What else could Doctor Kenneth Powell be doing, that is unprofessional and suspicious? You might want to be smart and find yourself a new location, for your services, to keep your very personal, private and sensitive information, off people’s cell phone.
