This top destination of Monhonk Preserve. The current tower was built in 1923 as a memorial to the founder of Mohonk Mountain House, Albert К. Smiley, who died in 1912 (the previous two towers burned down). Sky Top Tower is an excellent observation deck. There are spectacular views from there! There are 2 hiking trails leading to the top of the Sky Top Tower. We chose the trail, which was easier because we were with children.

Unbelievably gorgeous view! Birds of prey like hawks and falcons flying close on the open view. No elevator or ramps for wheelchair using folks. Great picturesque landscape views! Photographer's choice!

It is private property. They can charge what they want. The trails are very unique and well maintained. Well worth the price of admission in my opinion...
The day hiking fee is $29.00 per person. You then can park at the day lot by the gate house. You must purchase it online at Mohonk.com Otherwise go to the Mohonk Preserve, the Spring Farm trailhead and pay $15/person. Just have a longer hike to Sky Top tower
If you do the lemon squeezer Labyrinth before making your way up to the sky top Tower it should take you about an hour there may be a lot of steps but every single one of them is worth it
