Understaffed, under funded, poor customer service, closed at night with animals left alone unsupervised in unsanitary living conditions, the entire shelter needs to be rescued.

I adopted my cat Rocky last year, and the kittens Janis, Jimi, and Bridget last month. Everyone we dealt with was patient, friendly, and professional. Stevie was awesome and so was her Mom. There was a little confusion with the records on one of the kittens, but they sent me corrected records as soon as I informed them. It was also great that they provided vaccinations and spaying/neutering for free. One kitten did have an eye injury, and they all had intestinal parasites, which is my only complaint with the process because I wish I had known before they shared a litter box with my adult cat, but after seeing my vet they are all happy and healthy now. This shelter is doing important work and I donate when I can, suggest everyone does the same.

It's needs real leadership..... the entire place needs to be revamped... the animals are barely taken care of. Donation container is never emptied and you can smell the animal feces as you approach the door. The entire board needs to be replaced with people who can actually take care of this place. The workers try but are unable to.

Yes they're open from 12 to 5

Volunteer orientation is held once a month on Saturday mornings and classes are usually held - weather depending - Saturdays at 9. Check the website or call the shelter for more info.
Yes they do
Call and ask about Bernard, Holly, or Luna.
Hi could you tell me the cats name? I am a volunteer but can get more info for you.
Anytime. There is a donation trailer outside the gates that is always open for drop offs. If it’s perishable food, the shelter is open from 12-5pm.
Unsure. You would have to Contact them Directly
Currently they don’t have any. Right now they have lots of bunnies, 3 birds and 5 guinea pigs.
Just show up someone is at least always there
Yes if i can catch it will you take it in?
Call them, they will be happy to answer your question
I'd suggest calling., and asking They're very helpful, and unbelievably caring.
There are normally about 25 at any time.
While most donated bedding is used, and greatly appreciated, pillows cannot be used with the animals.
Hi, Jenna. Tuesday morning at 7:00 am. You need to call ahead, or go online, to make the appointment. Someone will get back to you. They'll take your pet up and will usually have it back by the afternoon or early evening. Try to make the appointment ASAP because the slots fill up quickly. Good luck, and thanks for sterilizing your pets. Michael
You should contact them directly and give them a call
Took us a few weeks for rabbits.
Take a picture if I'm correct. They made me do that with my dog so they can put it on their social media
Yes! Great place to find a new member for your family. Great to volunteer too. We have fostered cats and bunnies (bunnies make great pets by the way).
don't know, haven't been there for several months.
It would help if you brought the heat lamp and tank setup
I got my cat spayed in Fishkill NY. I paid 120 for the spay and chip. It was a mobile clinic. I forgot the name, but you can look it up online. the clinic caters to strays, but I had no problem and recommend it.
I agree with answers above and below.
Yes. We adopted two, but 1 initially was quarenteened bcs of an upper respiratory infection in litter (6 tuxedo kittens) also our girl she was ok. But got an infection after she was fixed @ the Vet @ the Red barn about 5 years ago. They are both healthy now. Coda & Betty were their old names. They are very cuddly.
My guessto the question is Mike coming back is probably no. I'm extremely upset and disappointed. I think the Board's actions were egregious I think the politicians that bought into all of this did a very inappropriate action I think what they did was a photo opp they have all lost my vote as many others who follow the shelter for years are extremely upset on how this entire situation was handled
They have a play area in the back.
Never been rude when I was there, actually very helpful and kind.
No. Call TARA in Middletown, NY. They have low cost dog spaying and neutering.
Veterinary Center for Birds and Exotics in Bedford (Westchester). They are the best.
