Great, almost always quiet park. It's 10 miles long and encompases 5,400 acres containing the largest and most ecologically intact freshwater marsh in Southeast Florida. Nice easy trails for grandma and the kids to see and learn about a natural part of Florida. They even have a really nice canoe and kayak launch.

Not much variety in terrain, houses visible for most of the hiking trail.

Off a fast road with no dedicated turning lane. Overall very nice place, pre-COVID the facilities were very nice to visit and learn. But it seemed like a "go once" thing vs. "let's go again!". Trails are really cool and the paths are amazing. Canoe/Kayak launch is super neat. They take donations at the entrance to use the park, not manned by a person. Wish they would upgrade to donate via app, I hardly carry cash anymore.

Questions & Answers

Do veterans get discount for entry fees to state parks?

Abraham Cortes | May 25, 2022
Savannas Preserve State Park - Main Entrance | May 25, 2022

Hi Abraham! Active Florida National Guardsmen and their families receive a One-Half of Base Admission Fee. Veterans who have service-related injuries receive a free lifetime military pass. Surviving spouses and parents of deceased veterans who fell in combat also receive a free lifetime military pass. This waives their entrance fees into Florida’s state parks. Additionally, current and retired service members receive a 25% discount on annual entrance passes to Florida's state parks.

What is the cost
