Very unprofessional that they do not provide Service Dogs to adults with autism. Do they even understand that adults can be disabled by their autism as well? Clearly not. Why do they only provide PTSD service dogs to Veterans? Do they not realize that civilians can have PTSD as well? Clearly not. No ADI programs it seems likes providing civilian adults with non-physical disabilities a service animal. It is infuriating and completely disgusting and ableist.

Hi, we have a small program for veterans with PTSD, so if he is a veteran, he would be eligible. I"m not sure what type of program you are applying for, but each application is considered on a case by case basis, so if you're interested, it is worth applying.
Hi, NEADS dogs are trained to meet the needs of the individual the dog is matched with. We must identify which dog has the skills and temperament for each applicant -- this process ensures a successful and lasting partnership. Therefore, the wait time varies depending on whether we have a dog that meets the needs of the applicant. We do not expect you to raise the $8,000 prior to receiving a Service Dog. Once you are accepted into the program, we have a dedicated staff member who will work with you to help you fundraise.
You can try assistancedogsinternational.org, they may list organizations in your area that train owner-owned dogs.
Hi, thanks for your question, but NEADS does not train dogs that are already owned by individuals.
Hi, thanks for your question, but unfortunately, we aren't set up for visitors and do not give facility tours.
Hi, we only receive grants to provide veterans with Service Dogs, all others are asked to participate in the fundraising, so in this case, you would be asked to fundraise. We expect clients to raise the funds in a 2-year time frame.
We ask clients to start fundraising once they are accepted into the program and clients typically complete their fundraising commitment within 2 years.
