Super simple process to pick up and return the UHaul. Great quality trucks. I have used them multiple times and this location is great!

Absolutely abysmal. I booked an appointment for a hitch installation on July 2 and received a confirmation email stating “A U-Haul Hitch Professional will perform the hitch installation on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM.” This turned out to be a lie. At the location on July 25, the staff informed me that they would not install my hitch and that I didn’t actually have an appointment. I showed them the email confirmation, stating that I did indeed have an appointment, and they said the email was not true because “it was sent from ‘corporate’ and they shouldn’t have sent it.” They said that I should have called the location directly to schedule an appointment and that booking the appointment online through the website didn’t really mean that I had an appointment. They said that they couldn’t do the job that morning anyway “because the parts haven’t arrived yet.” I informed them of the phone call I received from their location three days prior, which stated “all the parts are in.” They were at first surprised but then confirmed that they did indeed have all the parts. They then said I’d still have to come back another day to have the work done. I ended up scheduling another “appointment” with the location, but even this wasn’t really an “appointment”—they informed me that I would have to show up as early as possible on the day of the “appointment” and vehicles would be served in the order in which they arrived. It was possible, they said, that my vehicle might not actually be able to served that day. When I complained about this in writing to UHaul directly it took them 11 days to reply and they offered no solution. One day before the new appointment, I received a message from the Northampton U-Haul location stating that they would be unable to perform the hitch installation as scheduled and that I needed to call back to schedule another “appointment”—which is, they reminded me, not a guarantee that the work will actually be done on the scheduled day. I called and scheduled an "appointment" for a week out. They again reminded me that it wasn't really an appointment, but they said if I arrived first thing when they opened my car would be taken care of sooner because, again, they use a first-come, first-served process (which is, I pointed out to them again, the opposite of the definition of an "appointment"...) On the day of the appointment, I arrived exactly at opening time (7:00am). The manager wandered around the lot outside, looking at vehicles for 20 minutes, then finally came in and asked what I wanted. I reminded him about my "appointment". He dug out the paperwork and seemed surprised, but said they'd get it done and I left my key. The day went by and I heard nothing. At 3pm, I called to check on the vehicle and they seemed surprised again and said it was just going in and would take "1 to 2 hours because we have a new guy learning how to do installations." At 5pm, I returned to the location as my vehicle came out. It had the hitch on it but not the ball attachment. They checked the paperwork again and discovered that, yes, I had indeed purchased the ball as well. They put it on and I quickly departed. When, on July 2, I scheduled the first appointment for 3 weeks out, UHaul stated that it would take 0.8 hours for the hitch installation and 0.5 hours for the wiring, for a total of 1 hour and 18 minutes of labor. In the end, 3 weeks became 6 weeks and 1 hour, 18 minutes became 10 hours. I would never go back to UHaul of Northampton and neither should you.

Yes one way rates are different
They usually don't, but new tanks should be ready to go.
Yes but you need to take pictures and check out on your cell phone.
They charge $19.95 for the pickup plus .59 cents per mile. Keep in mind, If you return it with less gas than you got it with they'll charge a $25 fee as well so make sure to refill it back to the same point!
