im a shareholder and Board member of 1199. I was called by a share holder to the store because the cashier a young man who it was perceived to be African American but spoke Spanish refused to pack her bag ,but proceeded to pack the next customers bag, stating that was not his job to pack bags. He also stated that the manager was not to supply additional workers to help out when the lines are long. The cashier was rude and disrespectful. im reporting to consumer affairs and to the Board . All cashiers must help all customers if the customer so desires and not discriminate.. if the cashier can't do the job he must be fired. incident took place August 7th at 7;00pm at 1199 housing location 1st avenue
