Beautiful place. I just stopped visiting when we saw a Coyote there. It was less than 30 feet from us by the time we noticed it. I guess it makes sense, this is probably a nice place for a Coyote, Bob-cat etc to find a meal. If that doesn't make you nervous, it really is a beautiful place .

This is a nice place to go to hike, and fish. There's not much that I've seen for picnicking. The trails could be kept up better. It would be a huge improvement to have board walks over muddy marshy places. As it is, it is very tricky to get through these spots. I think of another small lake near Waterbury that has a trail. It's a great example of what I am talking about.

It is not a campground.
Depends what hike you take. It took us 1h:45m to walk around the lake. The trails were muddy and rocky, but the vistas were very scenic.
I did not see an entrance, but if you drive far enough past the you are here notice, there's parking at crescent lake, which seems to be a local park.
