Horrible service and no one can answer the phone except collections. There needs to be new management! How do people do their job there if nothings being done to help people with issues with the system.

No one answers the phone it's just an automated system. How could thos institution be handling children services i don't get it. These people workin here are a danger to families.

y’all do realize child support is the middle man right.

The worst most unprofessional place I ever had to deal with in Rhode Island. I’ve called and left messages I’ve even sent emails and nobody ever gets back to you !! On top of when I finally got in contact with someone she had the audacity to catch an attitude

I want some one to call me because I am not going to but him in that I don't get cash no more and I don't want to go in
That is what i would love to know too .good question .
The same exact thing has happened to me and I'm unable to reach anyone via telephone. Not only that I work full time so I'm supposed to take time out of work to fix a mistake that isn't mine. This entire process is ridiculous. The state of RI is ridiculous. I haven't received a payment since November and my son's father pays faithfully ever month. But if you owed the state money they would garnish your wages, take your taxes. Whatever they need to do. The government sucks and that's what it comes down too. Shame on the system. Obviously they don't care if we're able to feed our family. I don't receive any public assistance, I work and receive child support. Or at least I'm supposed too. So my son's father is at a loss as am I. It's total BULL!!!!!!!!
There website says you may get a kids card in the meantime. However I haven't gotten either and called the kids card line and they have no showing of one going out for me
That's not true I live in ga and I get child support threw a different state the child support person that's on the paper that's who you call
Thats insane. Wow
Traci you have to go on to Cse.ri.gov Look for forms then scroll until you see change of addy I literally figured it out yesterday. I feel your pain!!
You have to go there in person.
This randomly started to happen to me too.. they said I received medical assistance for the kids.. I had to take a whole day off of work to go to Medicaid and even though I cancelled all Medicaid for my kids.. had the kids listed as active. I had to have them cancel all Medicaid.. confirm it.. and the state still takes 160 per month for Medicaid! Mind you I pay for health insurance through my job and pay all co-pays.. because even though we qualify I cant afford to pay for both .. they stopped taking it out for one month after threatening to sue and call the news .. then they started taking it the next month.. I am a single parent and really cant afford this.. it is not fair
You have to file a motion to stop. At your court house . in RI its the only way . good luck with that too took me 2 years and never got my money back from a over payment.
WTH is going on here with this place
I had that happen to me and I had to keep paying but you can schedule a hearing to enforce split custody so he can see his kids. If he is endangering his kids or has history it might be difficult. Otherwise you should be good.
Yes you have to go to child support office on dorrance street but you cant go in person because they have the office closed for in person meetings, they have a list of numbers ok n the door with a security guard present that can help guide you to the right person to contact. The list has direct contact numbers.
They have a drop off box in the front of the building that's what I did and my worker got it
You have to go to the child support legal window and ask for paperwork for a motion for an adjustment. Then have the other party served the paperwork.
If I was you I would go to the child support office with proof that your daughter's father was making the payment. If you did not receive the money at the time she was under age, that money is still yours. They are responsible for making sure payments are made and received by the custodial parent
Ronald Thompson has a PHD in law and it is affordable and efficient. His office is in Pawtucket.
Unfortunately you won't get anything unless it comes from her taxes or any kind of income owed to her
Its easy to just go to the location.
18 thats it, unless disabled.
They can hold the payment up to a year.
That I know, but the general address, much like the phone number, only gets you ignored. I need the director's name, office number, what have you, to send a certified letter.
I hired a lawyer. I couldn't do it myself.
Your case number should be on the court papers you recieved.
In RI it's your social along with the number 1 directly after it.
If you owe back child support and your child turns 18 before it's paid off, the custodial parent still has a right to collect what's owed.
Call channel 12 and they will investigate this s**t
You have to go to your local court house and file a motion at the clerks desk to inform them of his new job. The kicker is YOU have to provide them with the name of his work place and address. Good luck.
File in family court.
Trying to call child support to tell them i missed a payment due to loosing my debit card
Yes. They just can't approach the bench with you
