My brother-in-law was recently hired by electric boat as a welder. Currently he’s taking classes for the company. Since he has actually been hired and since he has actually started those classes he has faced constant harassment from not only fellow workers but also his instructor. He has had his tools stolen, phallic objects drawn on his boot, and his instructor constantly yells at him for making small errors. This type of behavior would never be tolerated in any of the company let alone a major company that has contracts. My brother-in-law has a hard time following certain guidance and simply needs more instruction for certain tasks. I find it very unfortunate that this kind of culture has to exist in the company. He has tried many times to contact somebody in order to report this but unfortunately he is not able to make any kind of contact with anybody. This has caused him severe psychological stress and he’s even looking of abandoning this new career that he has found as well as enjoyed. At this point I’d be willing to speak to media outlets as well as somebody that I know in the statehouse to become well aware that this kind of company culture is being tolerated. I would also like to mention that if my brother-in-law’s tools keep getting stolen or if this kind of treatment is continuing to be perpetuated and tolerated, he will be advised to contact an attorney. I hope that this issue becomes very much resolved and that my brother will continue to enjoy the new career that he has created and enjoyed.

my advice to you is when you graduate to apply Electric Boat is always hiring even with no experience we will train. might even want to check out one of job fairs the next it is being held.
