I had great hopes of owning a home one day until I met this organization. Like others mentioned, I had to place several calls in to get my documents acknowledged. They wanted to see EVERYTHING, even accounts with zero balances... all of this prior to establishing a relationship. That made me nervous, so naturally I withheld my main savings account. Also, all of your savings must be from documented earned income or it doesn't count. Your parents, or anyone else cannot gift you something and it counts. Nope. For it to count, they're going to need to see their bank statements also. At the end of this, I was told I'm not mortgage ready, even after mentioning my main savings, so I'd just continue paying my $2,000 rent. Feel free to multiply that by YEARS. I don't understand the existence of this establishment. Maybe it works for the upper class, the homeowners or those seeking advice with tenants and foreclosures but not the first time home buyers.

Don’t spend your time and money I attended First Time Homebuyer Webinar and Financial Coaching & Credit Improvement Webinar ,I was ready to next step, I was start collecting needed papers for One on one Counseling When I contacted with a question on Friday no one was there to answer my question and left message and waited until next week called again on Wednesday still didn’t get answer to my question , person on the phone was rude , in my experience to get help or treated nicely you have to be a friend or family with someone in there works

They take forever to respond to you. You have to keep calling and leaving messages. Do these people not understand how NYC real estate works? Time is money. By the time they get back to you the property you're interested in is already sold. You cannot meet a realtor without them wanting to know where the funds are coming from. They give you very little advice on anything. It defeats the purpose of helping people who do not have money for down payments. They're supposed to be helping the underprivileged, however, they only reinforce that the underprivileged are treated like second class citizens and no one cares about the working class in this city.. To add insult to the injury, you are initially charged $75 to start the process. Big waste of money given to an organization that seems to be clueless on the reality of purchasing property in NYC.

Questions & Answers

Are there any services to help someone who is disabled to transition to living independently? I would like to come in one day and create a plan about that.
