Today I was delivering something to woodland pond and got a flat tire in the parking lot I tried to change it myself but could not get some of the lugs off, I wish I had gotten every staff member's name but I don't think they did it for a Google review or for accolades. I think they did it because they are good people and it tells me a lot about woodland pond that if these people went above and beyond for me, then what are they doing for their residents? I was so blessed that they tried to help me even the front desk people were helpful and let me sit in the lobby while waiting for a tow truck, all worked out in the end I got the car towed to a shop and got some new tires and everything was fixed but I was truly blessed to break down at woodland pond today, thank you to the maintenance team, the groundskeepers the front desk and everyone else that helped Things you can't make up 5 minutes after writing this review I ran into one of the guys that helped me today in the parking lot his name was Mark he even went home to try and find something that would work and big accolades for Jason who stood out there in the 85° heat in a long sleeve shirt and tried to help me also, again if these guys helped a non-resident and a non-family member then how great are they taking care of the people that live here

I am an 89 years old artist and retired University Professor. Normally artists because of their personalities and space needs would not consider living in a Retirement Community. I was reluctant but it has been one of my best choices. It has given myself and my wife a new life, one we never would have had: new friends and much more. And I continue to be productive and more important content. I feel very lucky. Norman Sasowsky

My mother is a resident in the skilled nursing facility. She started in independent living and medical issues necessitated her move to skilled nursing. Our family is so thankful that mom was a resident at Woodland Pond and that the continuum of care transfers worked exactly as we hoped and needed. Staff are extremely attentive and truly care for their residents. As a nurse, am constantly impressed by the care and caring provided by the staff.

What is the LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader designation?

Woodland Pond At New Paltz | Sep 22, 2020
Woodland Pond At New Paltz | Sep 22, 2020

This national accreditation is conferred by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the largest LGBTQ civil rights advocacy group and political lobbying organization in the US. There are four main criteria that must be met: Non-Discrimination and Staff Training; Patient Services and Support; Employee Benefits and Policies; and Patient and Community Engagement. The goal is to ensure that LGBTQ patients, visitors and staff feel that they are in a “safe place” from their first moment of contact with the facility, whether that climate of inclusivity is first established by the terminology in admission papers or signage in a lobby or on gender-neutral bathrooms. A perfect score of 100 must be achieved to earn the title of Healthcare Equality Leader. Woodland Pond at New Paltz is the nation’s only CCRC to be named a leader in LGBT Equality by the Human Rights Campaign, and achieved this title in 2018 and 2019.
