I went for my first eye exam in a number of years today, because I was pretty sure I needed reading glasses. (I was right!) I mean I wear glasses to do everything anyway, but I’d been having to take them off to read stuff in the past few months. I knew I didn’t want progressives. I did try those quite a while ago and they are NOT for me. But I also wanted to be able to, you know. READ. So my plan was to get at least one pair of readers, maybe two. And I’ve been seeing all the ads all over everywhere lately with models wearing big, square, chunky, framed glasses with tortoiseshell type patterns/designs. I. Love. Tortoiseshell. I knew if I got a prescription for reading glasses I wanted those types of frames or nothing at all. So I went next-door to Eyemart Express and told the salesperson what I wanted. He took me directly to the frames that were PRECISELY what I wanted and then helped me narrow down from three frames to the two I actually bought. There was a discount for buying two pairs instead of one (I was pretty committed to two pair, but that definitely sealed the deal!). THEN he got me the military discount because my ex husband was Active Duty Navy (so, you know, I DID get something from that particular deadbeat!). They took all my eye measurements and sent the frames out back to their lab. My glasses were done in less than 15 minutes. Both pairs. I was impressed. They fit perfectly. I didn’t need any adjustments. Also? They look pretty damn great. DEFINITELY a happy customer. I mean I hope I don’t have to go back any time soon. But I would definitely go back to Eyemart Express!
