I'm an Allegan native who lives in Georgia and this monstrosity is a perennial embarrassment. Maintenance and features are variable. Someone's delightful bedding report is someone else's rancid A/C, there is no brand standard here. The real frustration with the Budget Host / former Sunset is the absurd rate charged by this barely two star property. Stay. In. Holland. Please do not reward this perpetual blight on Allegan with patronage unless there is no other option or you don't mind being fleeced just a bit extra for the privilege of staying in Allegan's only mainstream accommodation. This motel is a sore spot every time I visit. Please investigate options in Holland, Plainwell or anywhere else. Yes, Budget Host can get a premium rate for their lack of proximal competition. In my opinion this is not a good value and is best avoided.

The owners were very pleasant and helpful recommending restaurants and attractions. We were a short drive to Bittersweet Ski resort and less than 10 minutes from restaurant, breweries, and shops. The room was perfect for us and we will be staying here for all future ski trips.

Very Clean! Owners were friendly and made you feel at home. We had a lovely room in the newer part and it was very clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a very nice breakfast in morning. Quiet and peaceful there. Will definitely stay there again.

Was placed in one of the old brick buildings. Was told 2 queen beds, it was 2 double beds. Hard bsqueeky bed, pillows consisted of 2 flattened pillows in one pillow case, took 5 tries to flush toilette contents every time, had to leave curtain open all night so window ac unit could circulate, no comforter instead very old blankets with material balls covering the blanket, wad of long black hair in my bath towel, very very old and out dated and smelled. Will not return!
