Easy walk to water falls. Water falls are close to parking lot and no need to take long and strenuous hike to see the main falls.

Little under 30 minutes from I79 on curvy rt 310. Little to no cell service at the park, no swimming in the river, you will die. The falls are nice, lots of loop trails and some out and back trails. Great playground and lots of pavillions reservation. Lots of maintained Mountain bike trails.

In the spring time, you never know what you’re going to get at Valley Falls State Park in Fairmont West Virginia. Sometimes the falls are peaceful and a little sleepy…And, sometimes they’re raging and angry. This week, they were somewhere in between. If you get the chance to come to this 1000+ acre park, it’s a great place to hike or just sit and reflect along the river!

We didn't get to hike any trails this time just walked down to the falls and on the rocks although it was very pretty and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It does seem to be a popular destination for photo shoots (we also saw a wedding). Would love to explore more

Yes the park is open from 7 am until sunset every day and the main gate is locked at the top of the hill at that time. Everyone needs to be out by that time.
If the road is clear from snow and Ice we will have the gate open. If the road is in poor condition the gate will be closed.

Not sure, but the ranger said the falls is full of areas full of mud and really deep, said he got stuck in one and almost drowned right by the shore. So that could be why. It looks shallow but it's actually very dangerous.

There is a gravelled parking area and then there is blacktopped walking area across railroad bridge and down to falls area.

Its not stoocked but bass, walleye, catfish, drum, musky, and other fish are in the river

I sat on a rock and put my feet in. Stay away from the rough water!
There are signs in the parking lot stating "All vehicles will be towed at dark"
