Although 4 years ago I would’ve put 5 stars, it’s been an uphill battle since then. I’ll preface by saying I always give the benefit of the doubt & rarely write bad reviews. We buried my father with Woodlawn & paid for a privacy lot, shrubs, bench, etc. The site is absolutely beautiful, but only when they decide they want to upkeep it. Unfortunately, I visit about once monthly & each time it’s something new. Huge bull ant infestation (fixed after we called), then dead grass and dirt spots on his site (has happened several times), and then today we went for Father’s Day & realized the privacy shrubs on every site near my dads, including his, were dead. The grass on his site & the next site was about 4 inches tall / overgrown. It’s always something… and instead of having to file a request every time we go it would be nice to have the site upkept. It’s been about 10-15 complaints & although they fix the current issue we complain, there’s always something dead or miskept when we come back. First photo is how the shrubs are supposed to look, and next two are previous dead grass & current dead shrubs we have to deal with.

While it takes losing a close family member to really bring home what is most important, words and actions of a caring individual keep us grounded. That is what comes to mind with my recent experience at Woodlawn with your professional staff, making arrangements for family at Gotha, Florida. Mr. Leon Lloyd was exemplary in making sure all matters were "dignified" , a measure of his capability considering the challenges of remote communication over the past few years. Leon's professionalism as a standard As a manager, I realize it is not one individual that brings about service as a team. However I know the importance of having a key player in the right place, at the right time with the right attitude to make service a complete circle, constantly adjusting to the unknown. Thank you to Mr. Lloyd and the supporting members at Dignity Memorial for the dedicated care that helps my family continue to heal from our loss. I am always eager to share my experience with others so they know what to expect in comparison with other firms.

When you purchased your "pre-paid" funeral arrangements, it was actually buying an insurance policy that can be used almost at 100% of nationwide funeral homes. Don't get ripped off like other people, go in knowing. Also, you should have received this "insurance policy" through the mail about 30-45 days after you purchased your plan. Just make sure your loved ones know where the policy is.

AVOID WOODLAWN IN GOTHA FLORIDA. ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY YOU ARE PRETTY MUCH DOING EVERYTHING THAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING. (BEWARE THEY SAY THAT THEY HAVE "PACKAGES" BUT THEY DO NOT.... THEY START WITH ONE THING THEN UPSALE YOU WITH EVERYTHING!) IT TOOK THEM 10 DAYS TO GET THE OBIT ON THEIR WEBSITE....... Not through Woodlawn. They will not help you AT ALL. Where is it? Cremorty Gardens or a regular plot? Let me know.
