My husband and three kids (11, 8, and 1.5) stumbled on this trail and hike randomly while driving and looking for a place to explore. We were rewarded with beautiful Snoquera Falls taking the Buck Creek Trail 1169 and onwards until we found the sign for Snoquera Falls. I carried my toddler the entire time. Definitely not a safe hike for a child that is wild or will run ahead. My other two handled this hike like a pro. It starts out through a gorgeous, open flat forest. Beautiful trees everywhere. Eventually you stumble upon these massive rocks covered in moss that look like the backs of trolls. We saw so many mushrooms! As you go up into the mountain you’ll start doing switchbacks, but the incline is not bad at all. For someone carrying an extra 25 pounds in my arms, this hike was not bad at all. I’d rate it moderate in general. Once at the top, there is a bit of room among the rocks to sit and enjoy the view! Some more advanced hikers without kids kept going, past the water to see more of the falls. They said it did get a bit slippery and wet as they did. We didn’t go further. The way back down was basically all downhill and pleasant. We absolutely loved this hike. It was definitely a hidden gem.

We hiked the loop, it was 4.3 miles and elevation gain was 987. The way we went was all uphill. It's wasn't bad tho. The falls were amazing. Going down it was like 5 or so switch backs the first couple were steep. The rest well if you love moss that's what you'll see. It was so amazing.

Tip: take a photo of the trail map before you start to make sure you’re on the loop - a lot of it is unmarked and confusing. …

Really neat waterfall. Really pretty with the wind blowing it. Like where is this water coming from. You can see it driving into the parking. …
