I have a rental assistance thrue Stay DC and was approved but didn't get the check that supposed goes to my landlord and I sent emails it takes 2 to 3 weeks before it response and says I need more information they have my information ?and the check won't sent it to me it goes to the landlord... You get so frustrated because it's just back and forth all they going to do is just sent it to my landlord but still just all talking it's a waste of time makes you disappointed. I wish I could gave them zero

Wish I could give a zero during these times. I've had an application that needed assistance since October. It's November smh, no decision reached on my case, the lack of communication from the representatives make no sense.

If it's a general orientation, then you just need to know your income before taxes and your general financial situation. That's all no documents. If you're meeting with a counselor, then give the office a call and they should tell you.
Housing Counseling follows DC government closure. If DC government employees do not report to work, Housing Counseling is closed. I think DC government employees are off today, so Housing Counseling should be closed.

Housing counsel center will help you , they all get funds from the government and sponsors . the program is cslled ERAP.
Make an appointment
They may be able to help you out. You have to call them the first Monday of each month to get an appointment. They open the line at 9am and you have to keep calling until you get through. If you meet the in income requirements you should be fine but you won't find out that is until you get an appointment
You can go in person, to gr8 the days of service for your particular concern and you be able to talk to someone that day.
I would call them for their times. Also the training fills up so usually you want to call and get the exact time. When i went it was Thursday at 11. I don't remember if it's offered every week or only a few times per month.
