Adrian Showells represented me in a protective order case. Not only was the case dismissed (rightfully so), Adrian pursued and I was awarded attorneys fees. In addition , I was very impressed with the firm’s quick response after I reached out for council.

Extortionist that use bullying tactics in defense of their Client. Attorney Hayden Lee’s unethical, unprofessional approach lead to sloppy work and baseless claims in an attempt to Character Assassinate the Plaintiff. They don’t even fact check there claims. Update: So the Extortionist is attempting to hold a Motion to Compel Hearing; knowing that I cannot attend in person and I am currently without representation. I reached out to Team Extortionist that I would like to attend Virtually; like I did for the Pendente Lite Hearing. Unfortunately, our Court system is broken/mismanaged and I can only attend in person. How is it that I attended a Hearing as important as a Pendente Lite hearing; virtually? While it is mandatory to to attend a Motion to Compel; in person? What if we were in another Covid situation? More to come. Please if you feel so compelled to reply with advice and or your own horror stories. I am sure Team Hayden Lee would appreciate it. Update 9/16/2022 Looks like I am going to be denied due process again, and the Extortionist/ Coward Hayden Lee will have the court to himself again. Hayden; what are you afraid of? Our system is a sham. Court takes care of the Lawyers and the Lawyers defend their reputations at the expense of those paying their bills.

At the ShounBach Firm, I retained lawyer Hayden O. Lee. Hayden is an excellent lawyer. I know all of us normal people would rather do without talking with a lawyer, but as I have learned there are instances that you NEED a lawyer. I have used Hayden's services three times in my life. Between two divorces and a child custody case, he was always very patient with me. He explained everything and gave me all my available options. He puts your interests first, even if you aren't thinking 100% clearly at the time. I would absolutely recommend Hayden for anyone who needs a family law lawyer. I am done with getting married, but I wouldn't hesitate to call him up again, if I needed any assistance in the future.

Totally bad experience. ShounBach Sr lawyer got out hustled by Jr lawyer of competing firm. Sr lawyer not a good negotiator, not a good manager of his team (lots of mistakes), not totally dedicated. ShounBach most interested in max billing hours; elevation of concerns to Sr Partners received incompedent response. My advise: go elsewhere!! Note: ShounBach Sr Attorney = Al Bonin! Somewhat a Shyster !!!

Questions & Answers

May I accept spousal support in a lump sum payment instead of a monthly payment?

ShounBach - Fairfax,VA | Feb 24, 2022
ShounBach - Fairfax,VA | Feb 24, 2022

Yes, you are free to agree on spousal support in nearly any form you wish. Though accepting regular monthly payments for a specific duration is most common, spouses can agree to one-time, lump sum payments, transfers of assets or payment of certain expenses in lieu of “regular” support. The parties may also agree that the support amount either increase or decrease over time to account for the recipient spouse’s financial needs.

What are parent's obligations to their children after divorce?

ShounBach - Fairfax,VA | Feb 24, 2022

Every parent has the basic duty to provide his or her children with the necessities of life such as food, clothing and shelter. The Commonwealth of Virginia does its part to ensure these necessities are provided by mandating that parents provide financial support for their children. In Virginia, this mandate usually terminates when the child is emancipated (e.g. turns eighteen (18) and graduates high school or turns nineteen (19)), but it can extend beyond that point if the child is unable to support him or herself.

What is Legal Custody?

Legal custody is the right to make “legal decisions” on behalf of a child. Typically, these decisions are made in important areas such as medical care, education and religious training. Legal custody may be joint or sole. If parents have been awarded joint legal custody, major decisions must be shared unless otherwise ordered by the Court.

Is there a way that I can save money when dealing with my attorney?

In order to save money on your attorney fees, you must try to cut down on the amount of time that your attorney spends on your case. Attorneys typically base their fees off of the time that they spend on your case, and so here are a few tips for saving money. If possible, make a list of your questions and consolidate them into a single phone call or email instead of multiple calls or emails. Prepare your attorney with as much information as possible, and respond to his or her requests with neat and organized responses. Written summaries of events and lists of important information, such as contact information of key figures and account numbers, can also help speed up the process. If your attorney has a legal assistant or paralegal, you should try to utilize them in your case as much as possible.
