Visited the Columbia Animal Shelter after researching shelters online for cats. My husband and I were so impressed with how the cat areas are set up, how clean they were, and how kind the staff was. We adopted Little Moo, a little girl cat. She couldn’t be a better fit for us. It’s like she’s been with us forever. What a love. Thank you.

I love this place. My wife and I just adopted Wii and Atari, two young brother cats. I was blown away at how nice the building was, how nice and helpful the staff were and how happy the cats are. They clearly are very well taken care of and loved. They have catios and large windows with tons of space for the cats to enjoy, and toys, beds and scratching posts everywhere. Everything is very well maintained and new. I inquired about volunteering there in the future because I fully support their mission and want to help give back. If you’re looking to adopt, stop by here - they are amazing!

How old would I have to be a volunteer. I am looking for places to get service hours for junior honors society, and as I love animals and want to do everything that I can, I thought that this would be the perfect place.

They have a youth volunteer program for ages 14+. I volunteer there. It's a great place.

How old do you have to be to volunteer, currently I’m thirteen but I’m very interested in working with animals. I aspire to be a biologist when I’m older and would love to have experience in this subject.
