I’m sure this is a great place and is cool to visit. But it would be great for them to make sure it is known this is on an Air Force base before we arrive and are denied entry by armed guards. Respectfully left, however it would be nice to know.

This museum is located on the Cape Canaveral Space Force station and can only be accessed via an escorted tour. There is an exhibit hall with early space artifacts and pictures along with a blockhouse. The blockhouse is an excellently preserved, intact collection of the computer and monitoring equipment that was in use during the early manned space program in the USA. Launch Complex 5, which is part of the rocket garden is where Alan Shepard was launched into space. This is a great piece of mid 20th century history to see.

How much is admission to museum

Not free unless you're an Airforce or Nasa employee. The rest of us need to pay a $25 per person extra at KSC to do the "Cape Canaveral Early Space Tour". They also require upfront registration with US ID or foreign passport to be allowed onto the premises. So - not free unless you're USAF or NASA. I suspect that the reviewers that claim this is free are confusing the place with the Sands Space History Center located further down on the Cape in the demilitarised zone. The Sands museum is run by the same organization and is also worth a visit!
