I am a professional single female who had a poor experience touring this property. It was several months ago. Ultimately the people that work there are the main reason why I declined (bad customer service), among a few other smaller reasons. It’s a shame because I have excellent credit, amazing references and make well over 6 figures. I just choose to rent because I feel safer. I don’t even mind rent increased or fees. I would have been an excellent tenant because I stay very long periods (sometimes a decade), no pets, very quiet, rarely have visitors, and am always clean. I rarely ever complain, don’t use amenities, and always fix things myself if I can. They really lost out on a lot of rent money with me. I’m an ideal tenant. 1) Bad first impression. I had a scheduled appt and when I arrived, the lady at the counter delayed and chatted with other staff while I waited. When she finally did get to me, she didn’t answer any of my questions. I asked things like - is it quiet here, I telework from home? Do you have valet trash? What utilities are included? Is it safe here? She ignored all my questions. It took 30 minutes of touring before she even started to respond to questions. Do you know how odd it is when you ask questions and you hear nothing but crickets? I just stood there waiting in silence for her to decide when she would get a key and show me around. 2) Lack of marketing materials. I asked specifically for a printed map of the property and the layouts of each unit type so I could decide which I liked. Instead she gave me some brochure with people on it and no real info. I got a list of fees finally but not the layouts. I had to beg her to print them from her computer and go back multiple times to ask for different layouts and unit numbers to see what was available. Frankly the unit was pretty important since I wanted a certain layout for my furniture and a quiet unit with a decent view. It took forever to get that. I kept having to ask over again until I got something but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. She just kept ignoring all my requests. I said I wanted to visit 3 units to see the views. We visited 1 and she just drove me in a buggy around one side. It made me think I would be completely ignored if I moved in and had an issue. 3) Older units: The inside of the apartments were not what I expected. Older appliances, carpet (not hardwood) and the fridges had no filters. It was just odd considering the outside was nice. It also felt a bit old in general - the apts all need a makeover one by one as people move out. Management seems like they would not pay for any upgrades but would raise rent anyway. Not a good choice for a long term tenant. 4) Noise. From the time I got there, it was noisy. Kids playing and I get that but there’s a school nearby and a very busy road. This place will not be peaceful. A lot of families live here and while that’s definitely fine, it’s harder for a single professional if there are loud barbecues and kids screaming. 5) Cost. The price of this place was too high for the older style units. I had a 2 bedroom 2 bath in Kissimmee in a much safer and better part of town for $1650 and all utilities were included, plus it was brand new and beautiful. I imagine they require a large deposit for virtually everyone. From the way she talked, my deposit would be comparable to rent. It wasn’t all bad. There were a few good things: It’s close to a lot of shopping and main roads. There is a nice pond or lake in the middle. Some places had garages. Others didn’t. They had a car wash station right on site and lots of areas to bbq. I think a pet area too. But I don’t have pets. They did follow up a while later asking if I wanted to apply but after the tour I had no interest. In the end, I found a wonderful new place for 30% cheaper and in a very quiet gated community near lots of things. Cheaper utilities too. Nicer staff as well. Just my experience. I wish the staff had been a bit nicer. Maybe I would have signed.
