Excellent human services program.

This is the worst housing office I ever dealt with no one returns your calls the workers don’t do they job and neither do the supervisors. I’ve been calling leaving emails and voicemails for months and no one responds. I need to know how I can contact the hire ups for these people.

This is a retraction of a recent review. I was contacted by two people in administration and they were both extremely helpful with my issues and we are working on rectifying the problems together …. Thank you Heather & Donna for your help & support !

Unfortunately, all of our program wait lists are closed for several reasons. Most simply the number of those on our current list far exceeds our ability to provide assistance or housing in a reasonable time frame, the current wait exceeds 6 years. At this time applications are not currently available and it is not known when these lists will be reopened and applications made available. You can always follow our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/habcnj/?fref=ts) or check our website (habcnj.org) periodically for any announcements of wait list openings.
Unfortunately, applications for the Housing Authority of Bergen County’s Section 8 wait list are not currently available. Currently our only senior housing applications available are: • Hasbrouck Heights Senior Housing • Lehmann Gardens They each have pretty sizable waitlists and certain preferences, but you can review and access the applications at habcnj.org/apply/. Should they be experiencing financial constraints and need help with a security deposit or arrears they may be eligible for ESG assistance. If this may be the case, please leave a message on the homeless prevention hotline 201-336-6490. Someone will call you back within 2 business days to complete a telephone intake to better determine eligibility. You can also go to the webpage for more information. habcnj.org/esg

Disable with 2 wheelchair persons and myself issues with walking looking for housing
Good morning Beatriz. Has West New York sent your paperwork to us yet? That is the only way the portability process can start on our end. Do you have an email address?
Same here.. Single mother w disabled child.. Live in Teaneck n I'm living w my parents. Bergen county is not the right place for people like ourselves.. They don't help w anything, I was approved for housing out here 3 years ago, now all of a sudden I'm on a waiting list. They have been building new buildings claiming to assist mainly "low income" . Not only building has anybody with low income. I'm on every list in Bergen county. Either the city is only helping residents from their own city, some bs answer or no response what so ever. Been fighting far almost 9 yrs. The mayors advice to me was "go start a go fund me page" to which I replied by saying my son isn't some type of charity case. I wish you all the best and hope that maybe you'll have better luck.
The person who previously responded is correct. There is nothing the Housing Authority can do in this instance. If there was no stipulation in your contract with the Buyer about vacant or non vacant then it may wind up having to go to the court if the tenants were not provided enough time to relocate or if they do not want to relocate.
Go to housing authority and ask. I'm not sure what else you can do.
The HABC covers all of Bergen County except for the following towns: Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Englewood, Fort Lee, and Lodi. If you choose to move to any of those towns/cities, yes you would have to port.
You would have to find out what housing authority he have and give them a ca9 then go there with with paper saying her now living in nursing home
If you have been pulled from the list to receive a voucher, you have 90 days from the day issuance to find housing.
Can you tell me if my application is there
