Getting to go inside the cabin (rebuilt in early 2000's) and seeing an early photo of the Caudill's was a pleasant reward after the hike up the creek. Lots of creek crossings to get here - plan on getting your feet wet, but the creek was low right now so it's possible to stay dry if you go at the right time. The trail was pretty easy to follow, look for blazes at the river crossings.

Worth the hike. Research the history of the valley. You won't be disappointed.

It has been attempted by a group of lost children, we do not reccomend it. TL;DR Do not attempt sleeping in the cabin over night. There is a nearby lodge.
