FYI readers, essentially all the reviews here are NOT for Allelo; they are for Annata, which was VERY good. <sigh> Btw, my review is not based on a comparison to Annata. This is independent. Overall: Allelo is very overpriced, and IMO, only OK. The place IS gorgeous. I love the decor and we were very optimistic and excited to try a new restaurant since St Pete has a lot of bar food and not a lot of “foodie” spots. I HATE leaving a review like this, but come on - with the many, many choices…you have to do better. 1. Wine selection was fair to midland. They were out of many wines, and our pours were very small. Not a big deal though, lets move to the food! 2. We ordered 3 tapas: Octopus, cauliflower, and snapper crudo. The octopus was so over cooked and tough that we didn’t even finish it. :( The cauliflower was ok but nothing spectacular. The snapper was decent (I liked the flavors, my bf didn’t) but we got 5 tiny pieces for $17!!! 😳 3. We ordered another glass of wine to enjoy and think about our next move since we were obviously still hungry and weren’t impressed at this point. Another tiny pour. I ordered what was the most expensive cab, $25 a glass cab, and it was good, not great. All in all, sadly, there was nothing redeeming about our meal and we decided to not waste more time and money in fear of further disappointment. We saw $50 Branzino (most expensive I have seen) and $130 steak! You can get wagu ribeye at Charleys for less than that! Yikes. Maybe it was our tapa selection? But we walked out with $175 bill (2 ppl, includes tip) still hungry. Not sure we’ll be back. I’m reading some of these spectacular reviews from people who were there for the soft opening and I have to wonder if their meal was comped as part of the opening?? Anyhow, I wish Allelo luck. Don’t think we’ll be including it in our rotation.

Absolutely blown away by my experience here! For a restaurant that has only been officially open for 2 nights, the food, service, and atmosphere were flawless. I only had dessert this time, but it left me wanting to return to try more on their menu asap! Finally, a restaurant who understands that desserts are all about the sauces and toppings haha . . . As incredible as the churros were, with sweet, tart, and even slightly spicy dips and a dollop of delicious dulce de leche gelato, I would highly encourage newcomers to try the citrus dessert. The semi-frozen lemon custard is unbelievably creamy and rich, and topped with a variety of textural and flavor contrasts, from fig jam to shaved fennel to toasted, sugar-coated pasta curls. Perfect for anyone wanting to be a bit more adventurous with their dessert choice!

Saint Petersburg finally has the culinary experience we’ve all been asking for. WOW! A big, and long awaited, welcome to Allelo on Beach Drive! Owners Shawn and Jeanna have outdone themselves by bringing this gem to our fair city. The decor and ambience are the perfect backdrop to the amazing culinary delights!! I only got a chance to try three dishes and I will be back to try them all. The service was excellent and appetizers and entrées to die for! A must visit!

Exquisite decor, Excellent service, Exceptional cuisine!!! Completely mesmerized by the extraordinary attention to detail from literally flooring to ceiling and everything in between! Just when you think it can’t get any better take a lil trip to the restrooms SO lovely in the most unexpected of ways!! When the gorgeous presentation of food began to arrive (via our professional & very personable server) everything tasted as beautiful as it looked Delicious Art! Allelo is a fabulous addition to the St. Pete restaurant scene!
