Being locals to Gainesville, FL, my husband and I knew we wanted to get married in town, and lucky enough, the old Masonic Lodge was being restored and would be finished in time for our wedding day and would become the 1908 Grand. Getting married in April, we wanted an indoor venue- ceremony and reception, and The 1908 was the perfect size to accommodate our 125 count guest list. The venue is gorgeous and sets the tone for an old Florida romance theme - it screams elegance. Everywhere you look in this building, you will find a beautiful detail, from the exquisite chandeliers to the doorknobs. We felt that you didn't need much decoration, for the building stood independently. While the building is impressive, the team behind The 1908 is fantastic. This team worked very hard to help produce the wedding of our dreams, and it was delivered. Always there to answer a question and to help with ideas. We are incredibly thankful to them! Especially when our cocktail hour had to be moved inside because of a thunderstorm - it felt like it was planned all along. Gainesville is very fortunate for this building to be restored and brought back to life. It is truly a wonderful setting with beautiful people - we had the wedding of our dreams

My daughter got married on May 26, 2022. It was a magical experience. It was as if we were at Disney having a wedding without the cost. The chandeliers were refined and elegant and exactly what my daughter wanted. The bidal and groom rooms are breathtaking and magnificent. There is so much history in this place and they have kept many pieces like the antique doors throughout this building. The stairs leading upstairs are old world yet phenomenal. Kristin was instrumental in making her dreams come true. The windows on the top floor are beautiful along with the viee.We cannot thank her enough. I highly recommend this place for a wedding or any event you host here. She went out of her way to make us happy. Any question i had day or evening, she answered. This is a diamond in the rough for Gainesville.

Our sorority held our formal here and it was just everything and more! We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue. The staff was also incredibly easy to work with and so kind. Highly recommend.

Parking in one of the surrounding lots is included with event rentals if your event takes place during non-business hours or on a weekend. Additional parking lots may be added at an extra cost pending availability, but there is always ample city street parking. Parking for events taking place during business hours will be subject to availability, so reserved parking is not guaranteed. Valet parking may be added at an additional fee, facilitated by 1908 Grand or the Client.
Pets are allowed during outside wedding ceremonies only and must be removed after the ceremony and associated photos conclude. No animals are allowed inside 1908 Grand except service dogs with appropriate paperwork.
Yes, to ensure the best experience possible for the Client and guests, we require a licensed and insured wedding coordinator of your choice be hired for the wedding, including setup and breakdown of the event. We would be happy to provide recommendations of wonderful local coordinators.
