Arrived at the Estero location to get my car at 10a & was advised that they did not have cars but were waiting for the airport to bring them cars including the one I reserved. Waited 30 minutes, inquired again, this time I was told the airport was not enroute with cars, they asked if they could call me once something came in. In the essence of time I could not wait as I had a 2+ hour drive to pickup my father & mother in Miami then going with them on a lunch cruise that launched in Fort Lauderdale at 2p. Another Avis employee who was in the back came to the counter & recommended that I go to the airport if I really need a car. I asked her to call to see if they had cars and was told I’d have to call reservations to make a change. She then proceeded to provide the next level of no support which was to say, “ I’m clueless just like you, I just work here and don’t know much. Much like you, I only rent to you or if I need to rent one myself, otherwise I don’t know anything.” This is where things turned in the wrong direction. I went to the Edison Mall location on a whim because according to the “genius” that store never picks up their phone. Luckily they had a car, the agent there saw the distress in my face and quickly got me on my way. My company uses Avis as a corporate account, this experience was personal and not a business transaction however, not likely I will employ Avis in the future on personal trips. This was a shining example of how “not” to put your best foot forward, or show accountability, empathy or simply customer service.

I walked in to make a reservation in person after shopping at the mall, the person who took my reservation said she didn't have a business card to give me so she asked me to take a photo of the glass exterior door with the phone number on. Later, I had to call back to change my reservation, I couldn't find the photo on my phone so I found a 800 number through Google search. After a long hold, I got a person whose English was very difficult to understand, I fed up with him and just cancel the reservation. I don't know how people can run a business so unprofessional. If you are going to outsource your call center, at least get somebody who speaks decent English who are easy to understand.

Busy season so not a huge selection of cars but the customer service here is as good as it gets.

Just rented a vehicle from them, great service at the Edison Mall fair price , will use them again .
