Great job. Thanks

My wife and I moved out of unit 2306 in July 2022 after having moved in in January 2022. We had problems with our unit since the very first day. Upon moving in, the unit was dirty, drain plugs were missing, the toilet seat was broken, the floors had paint stains, the walls had marks on them, and the blinds didn’t work (which never got fixed despite two separate work orders being put in). However, by far the most frustrating issue was that from the very first night there, we could hear about half a dozen HVAC units run on our roof. Imagine a large pickup truck with its engine left idling on your roof. That’s what it sounded like constantly. Management tried to help. They said they installed some boards underneath the units to insulate the noise, but that made no difference. It came to the manager telling me she’d look into bringing an outside HVAC team in to see what they could do about resolving the issue. I waited for a month or two and never heard back from her. I contacted management again and was told they opted against bringing in the HVAC team because it was too expensive. Paying $1500+ each month for a home that rattles is too expensive. The current manager of Meridian, Erin Morrison, is very kind and professional. However, the management company that runs Meridian, Hawthorne Residential Partners, couldn’t care less about their tenants. We were offered no concession for 6 months of living with that noise. Thankfully, Erin waived our early termination fee. However, we just got hit with a $125 cleaning fee because we didn’t leave our apartment clean enough. I guess they pocket the money and don’t actually clean the unit since ours was filthy upon move in. We met some great neighbors here, but nearly all of them have moved due to the less than stellar customer service. In fact, they moved to the Bradford, which is just a few minutes down the road and they all love it. Bottom line: don’t move here.
