Ok first I dont rent cars regularly and im new to the service. Ne way Tried to rent car this morning for a week from the man with avis . my cousin tried to pay and use my drivers license since hes a disabled Army veteran and doesnt drive. I was there standing next to him..... the man told us that we needed to use same card as the driver so i needed to make a deposit to add to my account so avis could charge the card .. The man with avis told us the amount needed on the card to rent vehicle .so we went to make deposit .we return and the man with avis tells us it will be 200$ more 4 deposit. I asked the man with avis why didnt he give us a complete total so we could b on our way and not be running bak to add more to to the account since we couldnt use my cousins credit card.. The man with avis proceeded to argue with my cousin and I , saying I told U the rt amount ..my cousin and I both stated he never said about the 200 $ deposit ..the man continued to argue he told us the full amount .. The man then said hes been working for Avis for 20 years ..My cousin and I reiterated why didnt u give us a complete amount before we left ? If uve been doing this for 20 years and you knew i had to put the money on my card? He proceeded to talk over us claiming he told us the full amount. He was a complete hinderance to the rental process and since he continued to protest intead of facilitate the process my cousin who was paying got upset and we left having to leave a day later due to his unprofessional attitude..

DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS! I don’t like giving bad reviews but this is a warning for anybody that is thinking of renting a car with Avis. This was my first time renting a car. I reserved a car online. I went to go get my car and when I was going to pay (the price quote that was online) the man working the front desk let me know that they put a $200 hold on your card in addition to the cost of the rental. No where online did it say that. Secondly, the man never showed me the vehicle for inspection, so I trusted that the car was clean and safe. The car was fine up until the low tire pressure light came on while I was on my trip 6 hours away. I went to go put air in the tire and drove back home from my trip. About two hours away from my home, the light comes on again, so I pulled into the nearest gas station. I had a flat. Since I had purchased road side assistance through Avis, I gave their 24 hr road side assistance a call. The woman I spoke to seemed annoyed that I was asking for help. And then why I tried to ask her about pricing she got upset and said that she didn’t know and that she would call me back if she found a tow truck driver. I waited an hour and did not hear back from her. It was late at night I was in an unsafe area and decided to start calling around. Found somebody to tow the car but it was super costly. The tow truck driver let me know that the tires in the back of the Toyota Corolla were worn down too much. In other words, not safe for driving. I’m only giving this Avis a 1 star because their employee Josephine had great customer service skills. She gave me the number for reimbursement too. Unfortunately, Avis opted not to reimburse me. Renter BEWARE, if you purchase road side assistance, it’s a waste of your money. Inspect every nook and cranny of your rental car because they DO NOT. Read every tiny word and ask as many questions as possible. Oh, and Avis tried to offer me a one day free rental for my future trips. After the horrible experience I had, why would I rent with them again? Smh.

Would not honor reservation made online, claimed it was a "mistake". I just booked that "mistake" again two days later for another 8 weeks. They don't check their reservations and make no attempt to find a similar vehicle.

The Avis location in Covina, California, provides clean, well maintained vehicles and excellent service. I definitely recommend the location; I will be renting from them again soon!
