Today I was disappointed in my experience here at Columbus Family Dentistry. My son, age 4 1/2, has been waiting for this appointment for 4 months because the female dentist Dr Ani, was on a leave of absence. Today would of been his first cavity to ever be filled, he was very nervous and scared of all the machines and noises. Which for a child should be expected. Well today we were met with an unsympathetic reaction from both the dentist and nurse Ophelia. I told them before they started, the previous visit I was assured he would be given a sedative either a liquid drink that would calm him down or the gas. They both insisted that the information I was given was wrong and the person who told me knows very well that no liquid is given at this location. Instead of apologizing for the misinformation, I was treated with rude arrogance. Dr Ani even said that she was leaving the room and that she wasn’t going to do any work on him because of his anxiety and my reaction to her comments. Not only did I waste 5 months waiting for her, but the two hours I spent in the office, just to be told she wasn’t going to do his treatment and I should find another facility. Then when we are about to leave, the only kind person I met with today is the lady in the front I didn’t get her name but she was very nice, I asked for the two ladies names. Thats when they started “trying” to explain themselves. Even going as far as to say she rarely works on children and for her my sons anxiety needs a specific treatment. I then retorted with the information I was given at the beginning of all this with people telling me “she was the specialist “ which she clearly was not if she herself admitted to not working with children. This place needs to get their information in order and stop having people wait around for months just to be turned away. Definitely won’t ever be returning.
