OC Pup Scouts

We recommend starting pack walks no less than 6 months old. In some cases and depending on the breed of your dog, we can start as early as 5 months old but that is decided on a case by case basis. Once your pup hits the 6 month mark, no matter the breed, they are at the appropriate age for you to book a consultation with us!

Once you submit your inquiry on our website or by calling us, our team will connect with you to ensure you are located within our service areas and your pup is at the appropriate age to start pack walks. We will then send you an email to activate your online account, where we ask for your information and pet information. Once your online account is activated, we will then set up an at-home consultation, where a Pack Leader on our team will come and meet your pup. If your pup is accepted into our program, they can start pack walks as early as the day after their consultation.

We have a flat rate for pack walks that occur 1 day per week. The more you book per week, the cost goes down per walk. We also give discounts if you have multiple dogs in your household who both walk with us. For our current Scouts, we have a Badge Program that offers the ability to earn rewards to participating in our services and engaging in our Pup Scouts community. Special offers and discounts are available through our Badge Program once you earn 3, 6 and 10 badges.

Upon being accepted into our Pup Scouts program, we give all new Scouts a welcome box that includes a brand new slip lead. We find that this is the best type of leash to use, as it allows our Pack Leaders to adjust its configuration depending on the dogs breed and comfort level on leash. We ensure that they are worn high and tight, so dogs aren't harmed during walks and we have found a lot of success utilizing slip leads for our pups. Under very specific circumstances, we allow certain dogs to wear harnesses. But we decide this on a case by case basis depending what is best for the dog.

The short answer, YES! Our dogs love splashing around in the rain and getting a bit silly! Our Pack Leaders brave the rain and ensure that all pups are safe when walking and while driving for pick ups and drop offs. The exception to walking in the rain is if it is not safe, there is thunder and lightening or if it is pouring outside. Generally during a rainy day, our Pack Leaders can adjust their location to a place that isn't pouring. Most of our pups love rainy days because they get to show off their fancy raincoats that mom makes them wear!

As of April 2021, we operate in 10 different locations in Orange County. They include: Huntington Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Dana Point and San Clemente

We are open Monday-Friday with limited service on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays. All holiday hours are regularly updated on our Google profile, so you can check here for up to date information!

Our company was created from the simple passion for loving dogs. While our dog walkers do not have special certifications, they do go through extensive training from our experienced team to have all of the tools to perform their job to the best of their abilities. Our dog walkers (we call them Pack Leaders) are very passionate about dogs and seek outside sources and continued education to stay up to date on training techniques to help our pups during pack walks they lead. Our dog trainers, though, are formally certified as their job requires specific skills and knowledge.

We have a brand new offering called Scout School. They comprise of 10-week sessions where we cover a variety of topics for a wide range of skill levels. All of the tactics taught at Scout School is meant to give you the tools to work at home to strengthen the relationship with you and your dog.

We offer pack dog walking which is when we have one Pack Leader walking multiple dogs at once. This promotes supervised socialization, provides exercise as well as light leash training. Aside from our pack dog walking, we also have dog training for a variety of ages and goals. For our current Pup Scouts, we offer overnight boarding as well.
