Absolutely the best DMV I have ever worked with. The staff is friendly and EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!! I served all over the United States in the Military and the Emmett DMV is the best.

The government employees here are friendly and such, but it's still always frustrating when dealing with government agencies. I recommend making an appointment (online) as wait time can be considerable.

If you need to register a car from out of state you will need to bring the vehicle with you for a vin inspection.
I’m going to be selling s truck, that does not have not have any smog on it. Will that be a problem selling it on Emmett

DMV's should have webcams so you can check online to see how busy they are before making the trip there. Kind of like traffic cams to see how busy certain routes are. Or, they could have the ticket reader board feed into their website.

Is there a permit test i have to take for getting a driver's permit? Also, do i have to bring in my ss card in to show or just know my number?
If you already have a idaho driver license then you should be able to get a duplicate for under $30 with your social security card ! If your going to be traveling by plane and need the STAR card you will have to have your birth certificate and a complete trail of your lifes history paper work wise until the day you walk in there ! And the system was being updated because of the airlines requested that everyone have a STAR CARD, by 2020...
