i adopted a cat and had him for under a month. his tail had been docked due to an injury, but his loving demeanor made it impossible to not adopt him. when i initially got him, the in-house vet said he'd have no issues walking and that he was de-wormed, neutered, and vaccinated. he still had his cone on because of his recent operation, but that was no issue. once i got home, i realized his cone and entire rear was caked in feces. this includes the area where he was newly neutered and had his tail docked. i cleaned the area as best i could but his dried excrement was so packed on that it would rip his fur out if i tried to remove it. a few days later, he had an infestation of worms crawling down his rear. i unfortunately had to surrender him back to the shelter, as unforseen circumstances arose (not due to his health). i was distraught and in tears as i gave him back. i gave them a list of things he liked to do and asked they show it to potential new owners so he could find the best family possible for him. the entire staff looked at me like i was insane. i informed the vet that he had worms and she blamed it on me, claiming that he had been completely dewormed and i must've taken him somewhere. i told her i only took him to the vet and she condescendingly said "mhmm, sure". the moment i told her he must've gotten worms from the vet's office and i'd call to inform them, her story changed and she confessed that he wasn't dewormed. i posted flyers and ads everywhere i could, hoping it would help get him out of that shelter ASAP (and it did, thank god). don't get animals here and don't bring your animals here. the staff claims to care but all they care about is getting them in and out. take them somewhere else.

The staff at NWSPCA are are the best! They are very friendly and truly care about the animals there. I have adopted several animals over the years and have always had the best experience. Keep up the great work you do!

The people were helpful and caring.

They have lots of pets there. The people are friendly. But they want way to much for adoption. ☹️

Not a no kill shelter for sure. But only.... Serial fence jumpers, biters, ferals, and dying or contagious animals get put down. They do there beat to home all viable pets. I worked there for some time and enjoyed it and was proud that we did all we could do.
They are open today until 4:30
Well, I went there and adopted a dog we think is a border collie, Great Pyrenees... a big beautiful dog and he was $100. Normally the dogs cost anywhere from $50 to $150 (could be more or less)
No
They do
I'm not sure. PAYPAL isn't always free or timely. I would contact NWSPCA directly. Most every respectable and well-run Charity will have a monthly donation option. Good for you to care about our animals.
Never heard of them charging. You should call
If you found the dog it does not cost you money to leave it in their care.
Please call them directly
No
They had our dog 23days even though we were in constant contact with them. They made us pay $150. To re adopt him. He had lost 7 lbs. They also had him on the kill list in 7 days, if had not been for a lady there named Susan, who went and took another look in the kennels. They had him from the day after he got free from his harness.
I don't believe they cure sick animals, I believe if your dropping an unwanted animal off and it's very sick they put them down because they wouldn't be adoptable.
Just come in and drop off a resume
You need to be 16 to work anywhere, I'd enjoy not having a job and focus on school if I was your age. Try babysitting its a good job for someone your age
State mandated stray holding period is 4 business days, after that they go through an evaluation which includes medical and temperment. We will not adopt an animal that is a danger to the public or have a medical condition that is irriversable. If they pass , they are put up for adoption. There is no set time for there stay with us. Most every animal that passes the evaluation will be kept until they are adopted.
If You need to find out Who and Why they were turned over to the SPCA It use to be 10 dollars Good Luck 💜🌷✌
I Agree with the other answer to You. Call the police. Good Luck
Just go get the puppy yourself! Poor puppy they won't help you they will probably go pick it up and then put it down
Well they charge 10.00 dollar's for Cat's & Dog's
If you have a particular breed you gravitate toward, please speak to the staff and they will keep your information on file. Check back regularly as they do get busy. That's how we we contacted about our Australian Cattle Dog.
In this area, see P.A.W.S spay and neuter clinic. They have puppy packages available at low costs.
1st you need to re word that question. So your saying if u come in my yard and my protective dog bites u , u want to kill my dog? No,! Now if ur in a park etc an a dog comes after u and bites u then maybe ok. But questions to answer are , are u too close to kids it's protecting, or u to close to something that his? I agree some dogs are very aggressive and shouldn't be in public. So please re ask ur question !
What area do you live? If your in the city limits of oroville, it would be SPCA, If you live in the unincorporated area of butte county it will be the sheriffs department
It depends on where you go check Paws out the will work with you on it they did me
Call 530 533-7636. They will be able to answer all your questions.
Your best bet is to keep an eye on petharbor.com That shows all the animals that are available at the shelter. Good luck! I had one too and they're great dogs
They have drop off in back
I don't know about a cat but they wanted $100.00 for a dog,
You would have to call them, they also have a Facebook page. There are some events that raise money for the animals I have seen in Chico. I dont know if it is connected to the one here in Oroville. Best to call and see if they could answer that.
