Our family has had to rely on District 2 quite a bit lately. I must say, I am very impressed with their response time and professionalism. In my experience, the police officers with District 2 use active listening and de-escalation skills which should be recognized given the current environment of today's policing.

I was followed home from work one night. The dispatcher stayed on the line with me and was effective and efficient in her care with the situation. The responding officer was extremely helpful with research, information and helpful tips. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. In all the places I’ve lived, this police district is overall the most equipped and qualified force I’ve encountered. They have good response time and are highly trained at working cohesively with the community. I have the utmost trust in them and proud to live in this district. Thank you for all you do.

The officers are very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. They arrive in a timely manner and often go above and beyond. Best district in terms of working with their community and quality of service. The one and only time I experienced anything inconsistent with this history was a new police officer who worked at night. He wrote parking tickets to several residents on Linwood for parking in a no parking zone. The part of the street was a legitimate parking spot. He stated he had misread the signs there? There was not a “ no parking” sign there at the time he wrote the tickets. The city workers were suppose to remove them after the bus stops were removed from that part of the Linwood street. They left a pile of signs on the sidewalk and did not remove the no parking sign until later. Called the city to report it. They came to pick up the signs left on the sidewalk but initially left the no parking for the bus stop one until later. The district was very nice about it and told us what to do to dispute it. Initially reached out to the officer but he did not do anything about it. This was one minor incident in many years. I am very grateful and thankful for district 2.

The man I’m meeting on Friday 6/7 says he tells his daughter to meet an online date the first time at a police station because if they won’t do that, they have something to hide. Can I meet him at the Hyde park police station?
