Beautiful views from the fire tower and the campground is in great shape

Excellent place to camp

Can't speak to the equestrian side of things but I appreciate that they allow you to climb to the top of the fire tower. Many I've been to have the box locked.

This is a fine enough place for free, with some nights being great and others being a nightmare. I came back from a hike along the Finger Lakes Trail to find that some group had set up a tent (and now their car) virtually on my site. As I look around everyone else has maybe thirty to fifty feet between them but I for some reason have others about 10 feet away, with loud voices and uncouth tongues. I called the ranger but they seem relatively unresponsive to such matters. Make this your stop for a night, I guess. This ain't the west.

Yes, it's set up perfectly for horses, and easy for trailers too.
I believe camping is free and Sugar Hill and Arby's I do believe are allowed and it's probably free as well check their website
There is not. But you can take a canoe down to Seneca Lake. There are a few pretty large streams to hike throughout sugar hill. Just don't get lost. Sugar Hill is very beautiful and the trails are very well marked and labeled.
Primitive camping , hike in to lean-to.. Road to fire tower is closed...
Yes, it is first come first serve, but there are about 30 designated camp spots. They are all very nice
No , not at this time.
All times
No reservations but it is a large area so unless it's a holiday/Watkins Glen race weekend there should be plenty of room
1st come, first serve
I just looked it up and no, private property, closest to sugar Hill would be Paradise campground about 5 miles away
On the Seneca trail right off co Rd 21 you can drive up in that field and it's about a quarter mile from there. I take the kids all the time. From the park itself it's about half a mile.
Yes there is. It's called Templer Falls. It's in the lower part of Sugar Hill State Forest. It's just off Templer Rd. Above the falls is a very old cemetery off the fingerlakes trail. Also remnants of a bridge washed out by a flood. It's in Google maps and does exist.
