My sons absolutely LOVE Hillside Commons. It’s a beautiful place to live and they have met so many nice friends there. There are many wonderful amenities. Jerid has been so awesome! He is always there for my sons and me whenever we have a question or concern. Jerid is truly the best and we appreciate everything he has done to help us.

Jerid is literally an angel from Heaven. I contacted him for some more information about the Commons, and he was so detailed and went above and beyond for me truly. He followed up with me to see if he could do anything more to help, and was always courteous and kind. He truly moved mountains to make sure I would have exactly what I wanted at Hillside, and is making my college move so much less stressful. I am 22 and a transfer so this is my first time at Oneonta and Jerid has made me feel so much less stressed out. Kindest man I ever talked to I swear. Our main goal at Hillside is to make our students happy, comfortable, and at ease, to make their college experience the best possible. Whoever you are most comfortable living with, we fully support it.
Who wants to lug all of that? No way, we have got you covered! Every apartment comes fully furnished. Full size extra long bed, desk, chair, dresser, living room furniture, and kitchen bar stools. You only have to worry about bringing clothes, some décor if you prefer, and items for your kitchen such as dishes and any extra appliances such as a coffee maker. Feel free to reach out to us if you have questions or need further clarification.
All utilities are included- trash removal, cable, wifi, heat, water, electricity, laundry(every apartment has their OWN washer and dryer).
Not if you attend SUNY Oneonta. Our shuttle runs to and from Hillside to campus three times an hour starting at 7:45am until as late as 9pm some nights. Our shuttle also runs late night to the downtown Oneonta nightlife Thursday until 1:15am, and Friday and Saturday nights until 2:15am.
As long as you are a full time college student you are eligible to live here. You may want to check with your institution though to see what there policy is for living off campus as our facility is considered off campus.
Yes, you will need to speak to your financial aid advisor so they can go over the process on how you will get your funds. We are a separate entity so the funds would go directly to you and then you would use those to pay your rent. We also accept 529 plans.
Usually a parent, guardian, family friend that has a healthy credit score that is willing to guarantee the lease will be paid. We do a credit check on that individual to make sure they are in good financial standing. If you do not have a guarantor, please give us a call and we would be happy to review other options!
Nope, we lease by the bed so if you don’t have one that’s not a problem! We have a great roommate matching program as well so we will do our best to match you up with someone that is best for you.
