I love that they rent canoes and paddle boards here! It's one of the few places I know of locally who does that. Their lake is a nice relaxing place to paddle. It's small, but that's really nice for me. It's relaxing, and the price to rent the canoe is less than $10/hour. One of my favorite activities in the evening.

Just had our kiddos birthday party at the pool here and it was perfect. Staff were professional and helpful. The kids all had a blast and it was without a doubt the easiest party I've ever planned!

I believe it is everyone 2 or 3 years and up need a membership. For swimming lessons you can also look into the Lee's Summit Aquatic Center. That is where our kids have taken swimming lessons.

At $24 a month for non resident it's a deal to join. If you're looking for fitness swimming be sure to check out the schedule for lap vs leisure swim. They have a great pool that is temp controlled. I love to swim in the morning. They have lap swim 3 times most days. If you're looking to bring a group of kids and just play in the pool. The $8 per person is not a great deal but pretty common price of admission. They have lots of fun stuff and a slide.

They have set them up from time to time on the basketball courts. You can pay a daily fee to use the facility and not have to join formally. Oh, and they are indoors, from what I've seen.

Jane, it's been my experience that lap swimming has never been a priority at Legacy Park, the facility just wasn't built to make it a priority. That said you may have better success directing your question to the parks department specifically. They do have a Twitter account. Best of luck.
They don't offer family memberships. The cost is approximately $15 for residents and $18 for non-residents. Children under 4 are free. With a membership, you also get access to most fitness classes and the swimming pool.

They have a lap pool, hot tub separately, and kids area.
