Beautiful views! Clean pit toilets. Snow just left the grounds in July ( and its a lake) so take plenty of mosquito repellent for you and your surroundings.

Went in the middle of the week and found a spot. A quiet place with places to hike nearby. Vault toilets were clean.

Wow a lot has changed in the past few years. This is more of a highway now with a few camping spots on the side. Multiple RV's using generators the entire day and the mosquitoes tried picking up one of my dogs and carry it away...bummer.

Hi Jason, we were at Brooklyn Lake on July 10 and stayed until July 12. According to Recreation.gov, it was supposed to be open. The gates were closed and there was no way to pay the fee, no envelopes. So we parked outside the gates, and we carried our stuff in. A tiny bit of hassle but worth it. Contractors are coming in to clean the bathrooms but there's no water, so bring lots! We had a great time. Get there early in the day as it was first come first serve. Things could have changed already but the info on Recreation.gov about it being open on July 10 was wrong. Many people were there and enjoyed the beautiful setting. Good luck!
Cell reception is spotty. Nearest tower probably in Centennial. However, from a high location with a good vista you will hit some towers down below in the Laramie Valley. I don't hold out a lot of hope for AT&T. This is Union Wireless and Verizon country.
It is open! We stayed August 4-6, planned on staying the 3rd also but we weren't able to get a spot. Get there early in the day as there is usually somebody leaving each day. Beautiful campground with clean bathrooms!
Rattlesnakes aren't present at elevations higher than 9,000 feet. Hope this helps!
