The lady who answers the phone for the trash/recycling department always is very rude and unprofessional. I have had numerous occasions where my trash has not been picked up, I forgot yesterday was a holiday and that they were closed for trash pick up-so I called wondering why my trash had not been picked up and told her this has happened numerous times. For one, she cut me off as I was talking and two, said “there is no way” as if I’m lying. I’d already talked to a manager once about the issue with our trash not being picked up and he sent them back out to get it, so clearly I’m not lying. I tried to call back to get her name and she wouldn’t answer. Anyways, I’ll be getting my trash picked up through someone else and I hope she learns how to talk to customers.

They didn’t get my trash or recycling dumpster the day they were supposed to. I get home after work at 5:45 and call them the next day at 8:45 AM to report it. They tell me because it’s the day after my scheduled pick up day, there’s nothing they can do, I have to wait for the next scheduled pick up. I had to wait another week for trash and another 2 weeks for recycling because of their mistake! That is unbelievably terrible customer service! If you forget to put your trash out, they don’t care and won’t pick it up. If they forget to pick it up, they don’t care and won’t pick it up either. Customer service is not part of their business plan so I will now be getting new trash service.

The people who are associated with the Shawnee County Refuse Department have always been helpful and friendly when I’ve contacted them with questions. The men who do the hard work through all kinds of weather have been very task oriented, and helpful when I’ve had extra items, as well. Their work is greatly appreciated!

Yes you can get your doctor to fax a note and they will get it up from by your house but only the totes nothing else for no extra charge.
Probably at your house.
They do pick up bulkies..I believe on freezers the freon has to be out of it. You are allowed one bulkie per week. I would call the office & speak to the ladies, they would help you out.
