I've never left a poor review of something before this, but my experiences here justify it. Almost every time I have gone into this post office I have gotten the worst customer service I've ever experienced. People at the service desk have been rude when I had questions or didn't know something about the types of shipping. I had to foward important, time sensitive documents to someone and the shipping options were not clearly conveyed so I didn't have tracking when I thought I did. The documents are almost 2 weeks late and when I went to the post office to ask if there was any way to know where it was, the person laughed and said I should've paid for tracking and that there was nothing I could do (which was a lie because I filed a missing mail request shortly after). When a buisness messes up or doesn't do their job, the least an employee can do is show a little empathy. I've also had issues in the past where the post office was supposed to hold live insects if I wasn't there at pickup (which they are never there on the days they say they will be) but they left the box outside in 5 degree weather, killing $60 worth of insects. It wasn't covered because I didn't pay extra for insurance. I shouldn't have to pay extra to make sure someone does the bare minimum of their job. Never again using USPS for anything important or of value.

Most people at the service counter are polite and helpful, along with one of the gentlemen that works by the package drop off area on the side of the building. I had a few minor instances including delivery attempt notices left on my door without knocking while I was home, a Mother's Day card not delivered to a town within the same state for over a month, and a refund check got ripped by one of their machines prior, but they only put half of it in the bag. The strangest instance was an uncomfortable phone call I received. A guy from the post office called about a package of mine. At first, I thought it was above and beyond customer service. Turns out I had donated old packaging to my job and the lady packaging merchandise accidentally forgot to put the new shipping label over the old one. I explained the situation, apologized for the mix up, and thanked him for checking up on it. You would think that was the end of it. Nope. He was quite condescending and continued to tell me a total of three times not to do it again, which didn't make sense because I had just told him another employee had attached the current shipping label. It's like he didn't even listen to me in the first place. I don't know what was going on in this man's life that lead to the decision to go on a power trip over the phone, but he probably shouldn't be working a position involving customer service. Considering the shipping labels have dates on them, he probably could have figured out which one was current without calling me (a day old vs over a year old), especially since a USPS shipping label cannot be used after a week has passed. As much time as he took to call just to belittle me, he could have spent it learning how to decipher shipping labels.

I'd suggest heading down to the post office, the guy at the counter is awesome and will make sure all things are fixed. I went through this when we moved here at the end of May.

Can a flat rate box be sent to a soldier overseas (APO) for the flat rate?

Yes. The rate is based on the country it is being shipped to.
