The food is bland. I ordered the Tres Amigos and my wife ordered the #4. Both meals were bland and had no Mexican flavor. The meat was overcooked and dry and seemed like it had been reheated. The meals arrived about 5 minutes after we ordered and were not fresh. The white cheese sauce was more like melted white velveeta and thickened to a sticky texture within minutes of the plates being delivered. Would not recommend.

Excellent service. There were 12 in our party and the waitress did not make one mistake. The food was pretty good

El Monte is my favorite Mexican Restaurant and they always have been since they first opened here. Grilled Chicken Nachos are my go to at any Mexican Restaurant but El Monte does them the best. Also the Three Amigos makes for a great meal when I don’t want an entire plate of Nachos.
