I am homeowner and a landlord. I have a tenant on a month to month basis. The tenant has been disrespectful to me in my own home. I gave the tenant a 30 day notice and she got upset. The lease says no premise parking but the tenant is parking in the premise. I asked her to move her car twice in a two day period. Next thing I know they are two cops knocking on my door. I politely let them in. They told me the tenant accused me of bagging the door and yelling at her. I tried to tell them that is a lie but the officer raised his hand in a way to tell me he didn't want to hear it. They threaten me I will get arrested. I felt they were being biased and didn't even bother to find out the truth. I have dealt with cops before (in Santa Barbara) and usually the officers talk separately to the individuals involved but not in this case. To me those officers showed me they were not interested in the truth and only believe one side. They also said what I have in the lease does not matter. Lompoc Police, I know have an understanding why the citizens in the city give you bad reviews. I know you have a hard job but with power comes great responsibility.
