The Buttes Resort

Amazing hosts that go out of their way to ensure their guests are happy and well taken care of. Long story short, our car broke down last week during the snow storm and we accidentally found this place to stay overnight. The host was very welcoming and helped us park our car then offered us food since everything was closed and we didn't have much food with us. Next morning they gave us homemade muffins and offered their landline to us so we can arrange a tow back to Sacramento. When the host saw we were struggling finding one due to a holiday, even offered to give us a ride back. This experience is one for the books, I'm beyond grateful for the hosts. They're honest, empathetic, and generous folks. I wouldn't think twice to go back to their lodge again but this time planned :)

From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, it felt comfortable, and Jim was so patient and helpful with my multiple calls regarding changes to the dates prior to our stay last week. Cabin 7 was absolutely perfect for the two of us, but it could easily accommodate 4 comfortably and we were able to make great use of the kitchen, preparing meals to be enjoyed on the deck. The cabin was very clean and cozy, and Jim and Rosalie (hope I got that right) were so hospitable, setting out the fire pit for us to enjoy a toasty fire with our friends after our hike to the Sierra Lookout. I only wish we were able to bring our dogs, so we can hike with them while having an awesome place to relax after our adventures, but that won't affect our desire to stay here again many times in the future. Sierra City is stunning and of all the places we've explored, it and the Buttes Resort is one of our favorites.

I called the hotel personally to make a reservation as we were there for a wedding (and they had reserved a block of rooms for their guests) - Jim was incredibly friendly and quick to offer me all the rooms and cabins that he currently had available for the dates we were to arrive. We ended up arriving much later than anticipated and he still greeted us with a friendly hello and showed us around the room that we were staying in and made sure that we knew of all the amenities that the hotel offered. The room itself was clean and absolutely adorable, the view was beautiful and the location of the resort was excellent for everything/everywhere that we were doing/going. My boyfriend and I fell in love with the area and we'll definitely be back, and we'll 100% be staying in the Buttes Resort again. Stay here! Its wonderful!

Though nothing fancy, the peace and serenity of watching and listening to the Yuba river tumble down the mountain is worth the price of admission. The quaint cabins with all the amenities of home make this place a great escape destination. The "New" owner and host is most welcoming and helpful. This was our second Memorial day weekend here. Had a very relaxing time. Highly recommend the Buttes Resort
