This was an awesome trek through multiple types of biomes down to the beach. Had a great time

In years past we loved seeing the hibernating butterflies in December. Then there were some years without many butterflies. I heard that this year was better, but we missed the window for viewing large numbers of butterflies, and so we were disappointed. However, we enjoyed the sights from the bluffs of the ocean, and the younger members of our group actually splashed around in the water and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Visited to find any butterflies. But I was late. Between November-February December must to be full of them

Sight of Butterflies brings happiness! I am glad this location is preserved. Numbers are reducing every year and they need help. Preserve starts near end of Coronado street and a small trail leads you to the entrance. the preserve has small trail but for best angles, you may have to hop over fallen trees. There is a beach a short distance in South West direction. Have fun!
