I wouldn’t recommend it. As a single shot, mounting a scope over bore can make operating the gun troublesome. Mounting the scope on the side give you convergence issues between the bore and line-of-sight. If you are having me drill holes, tapping them for threads, mounting and sighting an optic, plus the price of the mounts, rings, and scope - it just doesn’t make sense. Savage lists the MSRP for their model 64 with a scope for $209 so it should be available for less. https://www.savagearms.com/content?p=firearms&a=product_summary&s=40000 While there are folks using .22s for iguana control, air rifles might make more sense from a legal/liability standpoint… Cheers
