Love coming to this hotel! This is my second stay here with Family and friends! The rooms are great! The view is nothing short of spectacular. The services are amazing. Overall it’s been a great stay. BUT This time around I unfortunately did not realize that the beach chairs and umbrellas set up when I walked down to the beach we’re already reserved (in my last stay my family and friends were already set up at the beach when I joined them ) I walked and set up myself, my young son and sister down as soon as we got to the beach and immediately were told by the person who requested the chairs that this was reserved… embarrassingly I apologized and got up and moved to the side… next thing I overhear the same man who had the reserved chairs tell Shay(employee setting up chairs/umbrellas) who was passing by “dude my chairs were taken” and the employee (Shay) turns around and stares at us with the rudest face and shakes his head murmuring something to the guy and walks away. THAT BOTHERED ME! Who is this employee giving me nasty looks and shaking his head at me when in reality it was an honest mistake. The rudeness didn’t end there. I then walked up to him as he passed my family and I and asked for our own chairs and umbrella and We got nothing but rudeness and attitude from Shay.. very unpleasant experience. Shay didn’t stop there! When my sister requested our family’s chairs and umbrella she also requested as the day prior for Shay to set up multiple chairs and umbrellas as we overall were a big party of 12 people staying in this hotel…Shay was bothered by the request and complained to us that he was not happy with yesterdays set up! And how many people will actually show up this time!? 🤯 I immediately was overcome with anger and I ended up having a panic attack after he walked away! VERY VERY UNCALLED FOR RUDENESS FROM AN EMPLOYEE! BUT Overall I had a great stay again except for my last day! Shay ruined my day. “/

The general manager, Derick, was extremely rude and obnoxious and not easy to deal with at all. My family and I came into close contact with people that tested positive with COVID 2 days prior to when we booked our rooms. We called as soon as we heard the news to cancel our rooms and management denied our requests and was forcing us into still coming despite our concerns.

The hallways smelled atrocious. The elevators were small and had the same odor as the hallways. The construction was ongoing and had only a plastic sheet over the opening that dropped to the outside pool. We had to go under scaffolding to get in the door of the hallway that had the elevator. We had to uncomfortably walk through the pool area as it seemed to be the safest way to get to our second floor room because of the construction.The noise from the construction was loud enough to wake us during the week days. I was glad the construction workers had the weekend off. The hotel needs a major update. I had an ocean side room so was satisfied with my balcony view. The oceanside area was manned by a very aggressive caretaker. Even though he took care of my party very well because we tipped him, I saw him get belligerent with others on the beach. The valets were outstanding very attentive, and professional. The surrounding area of the hotel is gorgeous. Like driving through luxury to get to the place- very impressive. The restaurant has great food, over-priced but when on vacation I don't mind doing that. The wait staff in the restaurant was another story. They are aggressive and rude- the hostess and waiter gave us attitude and had very disdainful looks on their faces. My boyfriend and I worked in service industry before going to professional jobs so we know what tips mean in this business. I really questioned tipping at all, especially in the restaurant. Overall we had a good stay, I will consider going back as I love the resort guests only beach. I would say it is a bit over-priced as it needs a lot of updating.
