I was a resident around 2007. It was a little different back then. I will always remember Joe e, Hawk, Big John, Z, duck and of course mr. Roy and I will always be grateful to those fellows. I wanted to stay involved after leaving there and look for ways to be of assistance as a volunteer in and around the organization. Back then, they had a nice lady who was a doctor that worked in the office. Not to be confused with Doc Sherry. As I got a little closer and able to see a little bit past the surface, it became obvious that FHLC was trying to politicize it's entity. I did not agree with buying trophies and plaques for state representatives or whomever else. Gave off the vibe that there were people using Stand Down as a springboard for their own personal advancement. I will always be grateful that stand down was there for me, but it should never be politicized and individuals involved with it should never be waving their own flag for personal attention. If it's about the veterans, then leave it about the veterans. Leave hooray for me at the door

What a wonderful program and the professional way they treat our Veterans with the Highest Respect and Dignity

When the chips were down, Ms Elizabeth stepped in with a sense of urgency and her cape and moved mountains to assist. Then just when things were looking up, Irma hit and knocked us out of alignment again. And again, Ms Elizabeth put on your superwoman cape and moved the other mountains. There are still good people in the world. FHL charities move quickly for us Veterans and I am so grateful The Most High led us to them. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! When we finally stabilize, we will host dinner for ALL MEMBERS of FAITH HOPE AND LOVE CHARITIES. BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!

They do great getting vets off streets but trying to get ahold of your case worker is a joke until they want you.

There are a number of services that a veteran has access to especially if they register with the VA Medical Center first. There are different opportunities for support and services. There is not a number on the help availabe, however the veteran must be willing to do the part that only they can do.
Register with the WPB VAMC and look into the Homeless Veteran Resource Center. They can provide you with the options that may be available to you for housing and other supportive services you may need. Come in off of the streets and get the help you need.
