Not only does she take the time to explain concepts to you but most importantly you can tell she genuinely cares about her students and their progress. As her name implies, Valerie IS the best French tutor. We’ve been working together for several months and I’m looking forward to many more. Within one brief session she was able to precisely identify my knowledge gaps (I grew up speaking French but have never studied it, so my grammar is patchy) and design lesson plans tailored to my needs. The readings and exercises discuss genuinely interesting topics, so you practice discussing actual, real-world issues. Finally, I love that she organizes get togethers for students in the area, creating a wonderful community of Francophones and francophiles alike!
