We enjoyed our stay but the grounds and some camp sites need a cleaning and park really needs a mowing. From what I heard it's been a month since it was last mowed. It shows.

It's a good place to stay it's a bit of a hike to get to the back side of the base. There's plenty to do at outdoor rec. My concern is the upkeep and overall parking at the sites. With 100 campers at 665 a month you're talking about $70,000 a month coming in. That's quite a cash cow but they only mowed once near the end of August with the grass over 8 in tall or you could do it yourself. The washing machines the washrooms are grossly out of date. Why they haven't paved all of the parking sites and expanded them so that people can park their rigs and cars and trucks I'm clueless with the money they're taking in. It feels like it's a cash cow and the cash is going everywhere but the fam camp. I get there's an electrical an electrical bill but the sewage goes out to the Bay. The rest of the place looks like it's in constant disrepair with rust and water leaks. I stayed at Disney's fort wilderness and it was night and day compared to the two. I get that Disney will obviously knock it out of the park but with $70,000 a month coming in I'm curious how much does it cost to cut the grass. How much would it be to put in new updated washing machines that take credit cards and there's no soap dispensers you have to bring your own soap and no dryer sheets so you have to bring them. I'm not implying they should pay for it but at least offer a machine that will dispense them. There's also a drainage issue anytime there was a storm I was surrounded with water. Parking you're not supposed to park on the grass so if you have a 25 ft travel trailer you can park across but you're still parking on the grass. It's nice to stay on base but at least make the campsites much more like KOA or other providers in the commercial industry rather than here's what you get and too bad. That's my opinion when you tell someone well if concerned about the grass you can mow it yourself.

Wonderful camping experience at Manatee Cove. The campground is well taken care of and bathroom was very clean. It is dog friendly with a big fenced in dog park and lots of areas to walk your pet. I would suggest trash receptacle for dog bags.

Nice quiet place

Yes, they have to be escorted on base and registered at the office.
The RV park is a military recreation area and is only available to active duty and retired military personnel.
Should be fine if it's not during quiet hours at night
They have sites for some tents, not sure how many, over the winter some tent sites were closed due to hurricane damage.
If you are authorized on base you can camp. Contact the office for gate hours. They changed recently.
If your active duty or retired you have priority and can make reservations, but reserves or contractors are a show up first come first serve basis.
That would be a (No); however the Banana River beach is only steps away.
They don't make reservations. First come first served, except active duty. You will have to call about guests.
No, they don't have overflow or reservation.
Only active duty can reserve. All others are first come first serve.
Vets can camp. Active duty has priority then by years in. Beautiful place.
Yes, or a federal government employee
You can only make a reservation if you are Active duty. If you are not active duty, You have to go there in the morning and see if they have any openings. If you are looking to camp in the summer they normally have availability .
I haven't seen any discussioon about that. I use a Verizon hotspot. Unlimited data and no throttling on the prepaid plan. $70 per month. If you aren't using it one month then you don't pay.
Not too far but there are great beaches just across the street.
Prioity given to Active duty, Drilling members and Veterans. Very nice place call and see about placement and avaiability. Military ID required to enter the AFB.
Military id is required. Full car inspection daily, 7pm curfue, staff do random welfare inspections and verify prescriptions. Make sure presciptions match bottles or they report to mps. No alcohol. Must participate in daily trash pickup of park. Lots of rules and not really a great place to relax. They keep you busy.
There are many pull through open right now. Park is pretty empty this time of year.
Yes...use commercial gate...call security when you get there...plenty of spots in summer months.
They can use the campgrounds as long as they have military ID
You have to be military to use the facility but your parents can visit you and you can get them a pass at the gate if they come often
There are some sites that will handle 45 ft RV ' S but it is first come first serve . November through April it's pretty full.
You have to have a valid military ID either or retired or active
yep you have to do the time got to be retired
Yes, if they are guests of the veteran and is staying there also!
