I recently moved out of state to Raleigh and this is by FAR the worst DMV I've ever experienced. The state of NC is not operating a sustainable system having people wait HOURS...for something as simple as getting a license? There were only 4 people serving with long lines outside. Elderly people who cant stand long or walk far having to wait outside in the heat is ridiculous!! I waited more than 3 hours just to get a new license and tried 2x to visit. With the requirement to get a new license in 60 days and appointments going 3 months out is absurb! Someone needs to change this system fast or should be sued because this is putting WAY to much on the staff and citizens. Do better NC!

I see a lot of complaints but I have used this dmv 3 times and it was always efficient and professional. Adisha was very helpful and friendly through a complex ask today. Great job!

Employee here have no regard of other’s time. They are very rude and lathargic. We had an appointment at 10.45, reached the DMV office at 10.30 and had to wait 4 hrs to get serviced. They are treating walk in and appointments with same priorities. What’s the point of having an appointment, if you have to wait for hrs. All the staff memebers were rude and mean to everyone who came in.

Yes you can
U dont need a appt in Raleigh. The DMV on 4121 new bern AVE is easy access. Not long wait
Yes you can. Be sure to use the correct entrance (just confirm before your get a ticket number). Best times are mid-morning to lunch, to have a seat and a 15-30 minute wait. After lunch you might expect a line out the door.
YES
Yes they do titles, tags/registration. Just did mine here last week.
Yeay
You would register your car at the "title" building right beside the DMV. You need: the title to your car, valid ID, proof of insurance (liability is ok if you have no license yet), money for the plate and tags (although you can just buy the plate and pay for the tags later). You also need cash ($5) to get something notarized (can't remember what it was for though, sorry) My total was around $175 for the plate and tags of a 2003 Subaru. Hope this helps!
For what you need, get a license and place a car, the license appointments on the DMV page and if it is for a license plate, no appointment is needed
Best to get an appointment online.
You have to make a appointment
